Microsoft Plans to Kill the Xbox One X Gaming Consoles Forever You can play games from it on smartphones and computers
Microsoft is looking for new ways for development, realizing that soon the entire game industry will change very much. During the E3 2018 exhibition held these days, representatives of the US corporation announced the launch in the near future of a new service that will play games from Xbox One X on smartphones and computers, with the best quality graphics. In this case, apparently, the game console itself will not be required.
Back in 2014, Japanese Sony introduced the PlayStation Now service, which allows you to play games from the PlayStation 4 game console on computers and other devices. During the E3 2018 EA publishers announced the development of a similar product, but a much larger one, which will allow playing all branded games, including Battlefield V, on the maximum graphics settings even on a weak computer. It will take only very fast Internet with a speed of at least 100 Mbps.
Following EA plans to launch a service that allows you to play games from Xbox One X on smartphones and computers, Microsoft said. Whether it requires a game console – it’s not specified, but according to the American corporation, it was indirectly clear that it was a completely separate project that worked independently. If this is the case, then soon everyone will be able to play console games on any other devices.
Of course, that no one will play for cool games for free. According to preliminary data, players will not only have to pay a subscription, getting access to the basic set of games but also to buy them separately, using the Xbox Store. All those who already have some purchased video games tied to the account will be able to play them from smartphones, tablets, and computers for free, that is, they will not have to be bought again.
After the launch of a new service, the name of which Microsoft does not specify, there will come an era of the sunset of game consoles. Of course, many people will still buy them, but as the streaming services develop, such people will become less and less, and then, after a few years, they will disappear altogether. For cloud gaming, the future – Microsoft, Google, and Sony understand this. The only one who does not pay attention to this is only the Japanese Nintendo, but this is its private problem.
